<B>1879-CC S$1 Capped Die MS64 PCGS.</B></I> This is one of the most misunderstood and mislabeled issues in all of Coin-land. Even today, it is called a Capped Die CC, and it labeled as such by PCGS. In the past it has been called "Broken CC" and "Capped CC." In reality, it is a Large CC over Small CC, and examples are always seen with die rust in the area of the mintmark. This piece is not quite fully struck in the centers, as usual for the issue.
