<B>1879-CC $20 AU50 PCGS.</B></I> The 1879-CC double eagle has one of the lower mintage figures (10,708 pieces) for coins made at the Carson City Mint, and has been considered rare in all grades, especially Mint State. Indeed, PCGS and NGC have, to date, certified only 15 Uncirculated examples, none finer than MS62 (3/07). Peach-gold patina, imbued with wisps of red-orange, adorns both sides, and sharp definition characterizes the design elements.
