1879-CC $10 AU50 PCGS. With only 1,762 coins minted, this date has the lowest mintage of any Carson City Mint eagle, indeed, it is actually the lowest mintage gold coin produced at Carson City, regardless of denomination. This piece is a pleasing AU example with deep honey-gold color and considerable remaining luster on each side. The surfaces have the usual quota of tiny handling marks that are always seen on these pieces. Typical of most survivors, the strike is acceptable but not sharp. The present example misses the Condition Census for the issue, but it is still far finer than average. For example, the single piece in the Smithsonian Institution grades just VF25. Population: 8 in 50, 4 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
