<B>1879-CC $1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Stunning light pastel toning on both sides in shades of ice-blue and rose greets the viewer of this MS65 specimen, with a dab of lime-green on the reverse border. Considerable quantities of luster radiate from beneath. Liberty's cheek is quite clean for the grade designation, as are the remainder of the surfaces, although some undistracting nicks are noted just above the date. The strike is sharp in mostly areas. This Large CC variety, with the perfect mintmark, is more popular than the Large CC over Small CC variety. Gems of this issue are highly elusive, as the population data attest: this delectable coin is among the 80 Gems so graded at PCGS, surpassed by only two pieces at that service, and none at NGC (6/07).<BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> George T.
