<B>1879 50C MS67 PCGS.</B></I> Type Two Reverse. With only 4,800 examples coined (a tiny number Breen blamed on the Bland-Allison Act, which forced coinage of silver dollars to the exclusion of other denominations), any example of the 1879 half is desirable. This Superb Gem is an extraordinary survivor, flashy on both sides with a hint of satin. Whispers of blue and gold patina grace otherwise silver-gray surfaces that show only the tiniest and most trivial of flaws. Factor in a sharp strike, and the overall eye appeal should please almost any numismatist. Housed in a green label holder.
