The motto IN GOD WE TRUST appears in small letters at the upper border with the date below and stars to the left and right. An eagle on the reverse has wings displayed, holding an olive branch and three arrows. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and motto E PLURIBUS UNUM ate placed at the upper border with the denomination QUAR. DOLLAR below. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The Washlady name has been in use nearly since the time of issue, although this design has been called the Society Lady design in recent times. This example has nearly full red color, slightly faded over time, with pale blue toning on the high points. It is a glittering and highly appealing Gem proof that will surely please its new owner.
Ex: Mid-American (1/1990), lot 1875; Bowers and Merena (9/1994), lot 988.
From The Jones Beach Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
