1879 1C PR67 Cameo PCGS.
1879 1C PR67 Cameo PCGS. With an increase in proof minor coinage at the Philadelphia Mint, beginning in 1878, along with improved planchet production, outside of the Mint itself, the overall quantity and quality of proof Indian cents becomes apparent, and, from this point onward, there are more common than scarce dates in the series. This Superb Gem is obviously not common, however, especially with the Cameo designation, being one of only two such coins in the PCGS pantheon. It is crisply impressed, with a lovely mixture of orange, red-gold, and olive colors, and deeply reflective fields beneath exquisitely frosted devices. A small planchet flaw (as struck) rests below the E in STATES, and a pair of wispy blemishes, near the F in OF, on the obverse rim, will make useful pedigree markers in the future. Population: 2 in 67 Cameo, 0 finer (12/03).From the Palm Beach Collection. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
