<B>1879 1C PR66 Red Cameo PCGS.</B></I> With an increase in proof minor coinage at the Philadelphia mint, beginning in 1878, along with improved planchet production, outside of the mint itself, the overall quantity and quality of proof Indian Cents becomes apparent, and, from this point onward, there are more common than scarce dates in the series. This bright Premium Gem is obviously uncommon, especially with the Cameo designation, one of only five such coins in the PCGS pantheon. It is crisply impressed, with a lovely mixture of orange, red-gold, and pastel-green colors, and deeply reflective fields beneath exquisitely frosted devices.
