<B>1879 $10 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> This is the "So-Called Overdate," Breen-6993. The "overdate," such as it is, is clearly visible; Breen called this a 9/8, but what exactly is under the 9 is open to debate. There is evidence of repunching in both the upper and lower portion of the 9, more so in the lower. The description in the Breen <I>Encyclopedia</B></I> states, "Part of the lower right loop of 8 within loop of 9." Prospective bidders may decide for themselves. The surfaces are well struck and bright, with full luster. Sufficient marks and highpoint wear exist to justify the grade.
