1879 $1 Morgan's Liberty Head Silver Dollar, Judd-1611, Pollock-1807, Low R.7, PR64 PCGS. The obverse is identical to that used to produce regular issue 1879 Morgan dollars. The reverse, on the other hand, shows an eagle with spread wings that is different from the regular issue design. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border, the denomination ONE DOLLAR is at the bottom. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Sharp design details and fully mirrored fields with light cameo contrast characterize this near-Gem example. Hints of steel and gold toning on each side are barely detectable. Pieces like this always prove to be popular with Morgan dollar collectors, due to their association with the famous coinage series. Just over a dozen examples of this pattern variety are thought to exist, a small population for such a popular design.
From The Jones Beach Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
