<B>1879 $1 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> After the relative chaos of the previous year, with its multitude of reverse hubs and seemingly neverending stream of varieties, 1879 was a year of relative numismatic calm, at least in Philadelphia. This is a frostily lustrous piece, blessed with outstanding eye appeal, a minimum of surface marks and just a touch of tan color on the obverse high points. Although considered one of the more common dates of the series, the 1879 is tough to find this nice, and nearly impossible to find finer, as evidenced by its PCGS-certified population of 75 in 66, 1 finer (7/07). <BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> George T.
