1878 Sharps Borschardt saddle-ring carbine, .45-70 caliber, 24” barrels, blued finish, carbine sights and features, serial #6929. The metal surfaces remain in good to very good conditions showing 30-50% blue driftingto brown showing some slight erosion and pinprick pitting. The barrel address is good, the “Old Reliable” marking visible. The stocks are good with some dings, mars, scratches, and a light coating of varnish but no sanding. The original sights and rings are retained. The action is good, bore is very good. A very scarce frontier era carbine with less than 600 made. Est: $2,500 - $4,000
