<B>1878-S $20 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> The San Francisco Mint did yeoman service in the 1870s through the 1890s, producing the bulk of the vast numbers of double eagles yearly, most of them quite well produced and of good quality. The 1878-S issue is typical, with a generous mintage and many splendid Mint State coins available, for a price, up to MS63 or so. This lovely example offers peach-gold surfaces, brilliant luster, and excellent eye appeal. A boldly struck piece, and minimally abraded for the MS63 grade.
