Edison Parlor (tinfoil) phonograph. Circa 1878. Speaker arm pivots from the right side. Solid steel mandrel. Gilt lettered inscription on the japanned iron base indicates it was manufactured by Brehmer Brothers of Philadelphia. With stylus. One of the earliest commercially made phonographs. No. 1741. Only 15 others are known to exist. 13" long, 5" high and 4.75" deep. Good original condition.
