<B>1878-CC T$1 XF40 NGC.</B></I> The Carson City Mint's last issue of Trade dollars amounted to just 97,000 pieces, but the mintage alone does not tell the whole story. Mint records indicate that 44,148 Trade dollars were melted at Carson City on July 19 of that year, and many scholars believe that most, if not all, of the melted pieces were dated 1878. This lightly circulated pearl-gray example has strong remaining detail and luminous surfaces with few marks overall.
