Slight haze appears in the fields, and the upper obverse rim has a trace of orange toning. Bowers' Morgan dollar <I>Guide Book</B></I> estimates the mintage of the 7 Tail Feathers, Reverse of 1879 (with slanted top arrow feather and rounded eagle's breast) at <I>less than one-fifth</B></I> of the 7 Tail Feathers, Reverse of 1878 issue. He further approximates the number of MS63 DMPL survivors at only 66 certified pieces, with 29 finer, in line with the current population data.
