<B>1878 50C PR63 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> Type Two Reverse. A fair number of the 800 proof half dollars minted in 1878 have apparently survived the ravages of time, as evidenced by the relatively large number graded by PCGS and NGC. The two services have seen considerably fewer Cameo pieces, however. This Select Cameo example displays a thin coat of champagne-gold color, and exhibits pronounced field-motif contrast at virtually all angles. Moreover, sharp definition occurs on all of the design elements. A few minor handling marks define the grade.
