For your consideration are these store receipts with rare signatures from prominent figures in Virginia City, Montana circa 1878-1902. The first document in this lot is a receipt from George Gohn's meat store in Virginia City, Montana dated 1892 and signed by George Gohn himself. The second document is a typed document from Lew L. Callaway Attorney Office in Virginia City, Montana. The document says that they have received a full payment of 25 dollars from Alex Mckay and it is signed by Lew L. Callaway himself and dated 1898. The third document is a letter from Henry N. Blake himself, the Late Chief Justice of Montana to S.R. Buford & Co. explaining he will pay his debts soon. It includes the original stamped envelope as well. The fourth document is another from George Gohn showing that he, or S.R. Buford & Co, made a beer payment of $13.06. It is signed by George Gohn in the bottom right. The fifth and final document is another from Henry N. Blake. It is a letter to S.R. Buford & Co. telling them to send the note for collection and that he will pay the due. The documents are in good condition with some staining and foxing to some but no obvious signs of damage are present. The largest measures 10 7/8" L x 8 3/8" W, while the smallest measures 4 11/16" L x 8 1/2" W.
