1877-S 50C MS66 PCGS. Type Two Reverse. WB-104, R.3. This appears to be Randy Wiley and Bill Bugert's WB-104: "Tail hub variety 2, with very small mintmark" variety as illustrated on page 207 of their book The Complete Guide to Liberty Seated Half Dollars. Wiley and Bugert call the WB-104 an R.1 overall, but note in Mint State grades that it is R.3 as is the 1877-S half dollar overall. The overall mintage is listed as 5,356,000 coins. This specimen is a bright, frosty Gem with a little incipient gold toning at the peripheries, and is exquisitely struck, with excellent delineation visible on virtually all of the design elements. A small toning spot in the field above the A in HALF identifies this particular specimen. Population: 11 in 66, 1 finer (10/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
