1877-CC T$1 MS64 NGC. This is a highly lustrous and well struck example of this penultimate Carson City Trade dollar issue. The overall effect of the coin is white, yet light magenta-gold highlights are visible in the obverse field, with gold peripheral toning as well as a tough of russet evident on the reverse. A few small abrasions on the obverse appear to prevent a Gem grade, yet do not detract from this piece's more than ample eye appeal. Apparently struck from a relatively late die state, as a spindly die crack is visible between 6 and 8 o'clock on the reverse and evidence of clashing can be seen in the left obverse field (both as struck). It is unusual to find an 1877-CC Trade dollar this nice, and virtually impossible to find one finer; indeed, the major grading services combined have certified only three pieces in higher grades than this near-Gem. Census: 8 in 64, 1 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
