<B>1877-CC $5 XF45 NGC.</B></I> An important Carson City Mint offering with examples seldom found finer than this. Walter Breen noted this is prohibitively rare above XF. Doug Winter had the following commentary: "While comparable in rarity to such dates as the 1872-CC, 1875-CC, and 1876-CC, this is an issue that is curiously overlooked. It is very hard to find in any grade and in high grades it is very rare." The surfaces are subdued and yellow-gold in color from a brief time in circulation.
