<B>1877-CC $20 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> As one may readily infer from the mingy emission of only 42,565 pieces, the 1877-CC double eagle is a key to the Type Three issues. In all grades this is an elusive coin. This issue is essentially unknown in a grade finer than MS62, as PCGS has graded five such pieces, with four more at NGC and none finer at either service (11/06). This example boasts lustrous orange-gold surfaces with a bit of light smoke-gray patina and some light scuffs and abrasions consistent with the grade and some bag storage.
