1877 50C PR64 Cameo NGC. WB-103. Type Two Reverse. This hub variety is identifiable by the closed berry on the bottom of the reverse olive branch. Wiley and Bugert (1993) suggest that Charles Barber closed this olive berry in order to distinguish his new hub from the older one, which shows both olive berries open.
The intensity of the deep reddish-brown, gold, and electric-blue toning on both sides of this lovely near-Gem is easily its most noteworthy characteristic. Add razor-sharp striking details and stunning cameo contrast and the result is truly exceptional eye appeal. A faint pinscratch that extends from Liberty's left (facing) hand to her right (facing) shoulder is the only feature that seems to prevent an even loftier grade assessment.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
