<B>1877 $2 1/2 AU55 ANACS.</B></I> A mere 1,632 quarter eagles were struck in 1877. One can only image what a double eagle with such a mintage would sell for in AU55, but the little-saved 1877 quarter eagle trades for substantially less, and has to be considered a bargain in U.S. numismatics.
