1877 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS.
1877 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. The 1877 is an issue whose low mintage (852,500 pieces) correlates to its low availability. It is scarce in all grades and especially elusive in mint condition. Even though 100 pieces have been certified by both services (combined) in this grade with another 10 in better grades, there are never enough 1877 Cents to go around for the large numbers of Indian Cent collectors. This piece has subdued reddish-orange luster with an abundant overlay of brown on each side. A bit weakly struck on the feather tips, as usually seen, and struck from the Weak N reverse--the final use of the workhorse hub. Unspotted and virtually unmarked, a small die crack is seen between the bust and the first 7 in the date. Population: 33 in 65, 3 finer (10/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
