1877 1C MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. The 1877 has always held a favored position as the key issue in the Indian cent series. Its low mintage of only 852,500 pieces explains its scarcity in all grades. It is especially difficult to locate in Mint condition and with remnants of original mint color. This is an attractive coin that is well defined. Most of the original mint red is still evident beneath the woodgrain pattern of brown that overlies each side. The only trace of carbon we see is a tiny spot beneath the ribbon end on the lower reverse. An exceptionally good value and sure to be of interest to a wide range of collectors.

Coin Engraver: James B.
