<B>1876-S $20 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> Production of 1876-S double eagles almost reached 1.6 million pieces, the second highest mintage among Type Two twenties behind the combined output for the 1873 Open 3 and Closed 3. Availability of the issue is similarly generous, including Mint State survivors that total well into four figures. This Select example is not only better struck than the vast majority of these Uncirculated pieces, but abrasions are also far less severe. Both sides exhibit radiant luster with tinges of lemon-yellow patina.
