1876-S $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. This is a remarkably bright, flashy example of the second-lowest quarter eagle mintage from the San Francisco Mint. Highly lustrous with rich apricot-gold coloration that displays hints of mint-green, the piece has an amazingly small number of wispy marks, for the grade. The small mint-made die defect on Liberty's jaw is seen on all known specimens (Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 2006). Nearly unsurpassable quality, as none have been graded finer than MS63 by either of the major grading services. Population: 6 in 62, 4 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
