1876-S $2 1/2 MS61 NGC. The 1876-S boasts the second lowest mintage among San Francisco mint Liberty Quarter Eagles. With just 5,000 pieces produced, it should come as no surprise that the '76-S is a rare coin at all levels of preservation. Typically struck for the issue, the present example is a little softly defined over the highpoints of the central devices. A small lump on Liberty's lower jaw is diagnostic, and the surfaces, while somewhat scuffy, are remarkably free of sizeable distractions for a frontier era gold coin at the BU level. Lovely bright yellow gold color bathes both sides.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
