<B>1876 Centennial: A Massive Plaster Plaque Entitled "The National Medallion".</B></I> This beautifully detailed plaque is also found in metal form. The central oval contains the Declaration of Independence text, superimposed over which are 4 relief medallions, one depicting Washington. Four additional medallion imprints with patriotic subjects are found in the corners. Lightly soiled original patina. Chips and flakes of varying degrees of significance around the edge, the largest being at the lower left hand corner. A prime candidate for cleaning and restoration, or displayable as is.
