Quarter Dollars 1876-cc NGC graded Mint State 64. <b>Fresh white luster on either side with minor toning haze at the left obverse. A few tiny marks in the reverse field; otherwise close to gem quality. When the mint at Carson City, Nevada opened in 1870 its production runs were very low due to numerous causes. But by about 1873-4 in double eagles, and 1875-7 in the silver issues, production had increased to the point where a fair number of coins came streaming off its press. This is the only branch whose mark of identification is a double letter -- CC -- all others use a single identifier such as P, C, D, O, S, or W.
