<B>1876-CC $20 MS61 PCGS.</B></I> A portion of the mintage of 138,441 1876-CC double eagles were shipped abroad to facilitate international financial transactions. Fortunately for present day collectors, a small supply of Mint State examples have resurfaced in Europe and South America in recent decades. It is unfortunate, however, that the survivors were haphazardly transported in bags and, as a result, almost always display abraded surfaces. This reality is supported by the fact that PCGS has not graded a single 1876-CC twenty higher than MS62. This is a lovely coin that shows uncommonly pronounced mint luster. Sharply struck throughout with the usually expected small abrasions from a coin in this grade.
