1876 25C MS67 PCGS. This issue's original mintage of 17.8 million pieces is the highest in the entire Seated Quarter series of 1838-1891. Along with the 1853 Arrows and Rays, the 1876 is the most frequently offered date in today's market. Of course, most extant '76-P Quarters grade below the Superb Gem level, and the two major grading services report just seven examples in MS67. There are none finer (10/02). Intensely lustrous with a richly frosted sheen, this coin is bathed in soft champagne-gray patina with delicate powder-blue tinting at the denticles. The colors yield to brilliance in the center of the reverse. Both sides are crisply detailed with no abrasions of note, although a loupe will reveal myriad spindly die cracks (as produced) within the peripheral lettering. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
