1876 20C PR64 PCGS. The Mint produced circulation-strike twenty cent pieces only in 1875 and 1876 because so many people confused them with quarters, and by 1878 the denomination was given up altogether as a bad job. (The need for the denomination was further reduced by the sufficiency of fractional currency for most transactions.) The 1876 proof mintage was 1,260 pieces--less than half that of 1875. This proof example shows deep blue-green and lilac patina on each side, with a bold strike. An arcing strike-through is noted from in front of Liberty's nose to above the gown clasp.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
