<B>1876 20C PR64 Cameo NGC.</B></I> Although more than a million twenty cent pieces were struck in the first year of the series, 1875, mintages fell dramatically the following year. San Francisco omitted the denomination, and Philadelphia and Carson City combined reached 25,000 pieces only with the help of the 1,260 P-mint proofs. Of course, most of the CC-mint production was melted prior to its circulation. This untoned stone-gray specimen has impressive white-on-black contrast and an exacting strike.
