1876<20C> MS66 PCGS. Second year of issue for this odd denomination and quite scarce as a business strike. Sharply struck in all areas, and showing essentially complete details on all of the obverse stars. Shimmering luster radiates from both sides, illuminating nearly immaculate surfaces and a lovely, variegated toning scheme that emphasizes turquoise-green and salmon-red. This was the final year for the production of business strikes in the short-lived twenty cent denomination, and additional coins were manufactured in Carson City, but only a handful of those survive. In 1877 and 1878 only proofs were struck. A low mintage of just 14,640 pieces adds to the desirability of this issue. Population: 10 in 66, 1 finer (8/06).
