1876 20C MS64 NGC. 1875 saw the introduction of the ill-fated twenty-cent piece, with relatively large production figures from three mints, especially San Francisco. By 1876, it was evident that the denomination was a failure, with the 14,640 circulation strikes minted during the year in Philadelphia representing the last hurrah. This is an attractive example of this final P-mint business strike issue, highly lustrous with a gray-silver color almost reminiscent of platinum. Charcoal toning is evident near Liberty's head and the left portion of the obverse. The few visible surface marks are entirely in line with the assigned grade.

Coin Engraver: William Barber

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
