1876 10C MS64 NGC. Type One Reverse. The bright,
1876<10C> MS64 NGC. Type One Reverse. The bright, white surfaces display a mild cameo-like effect when the coin is tilted at an angel beneath a light source. The design elements are well struck, though there is a touch of weakness in Liberty's hair and on the wheat kernels in the upper left (facing) part of the wreath. The lustrous surfaces are relatively well preserved, and reveal just a few minute marks on Liberty's right arm and leg. A small planchet void (as struck) is noted in the left (facing) obverse field, and clash marks (also as struck) occur over each side. Possibly an unlisted mule of Fortin's Obverse 12 and Reverse P, the date is high, and the Es in the denomination are doubled.
From The Tim Cook Collection of Liberty Seated Dimes.
