<B>1875-S T$1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Type One Reverse. Large S mintmark. Quite a few Trade dollars were set aside as novelties at the time of issue and shortly thereafter. However, they were not legal tender in the United States at that time and were regarded more as bullion pieces that were produced for export to the Orient. A few high grade pieces, such as this one, were carefully preserved and qualify today as Gem Uncirculated. This beautiful example has bright, coruscating mint luster and it also displays strong definition in all areas. Generally brilliant, there is also just the slightest hint of pale patina around the margins on each side.
