1875-S/CC<T$1> MS62 PCGS. FS-012.5. A rare and desirable coin in all grades, and this uncirculated example has lustrous fields and a sharp strike. The CC is clear near the S, especially the right C which can be seen with a loupe in the open field. Golden hues over luster on the obverse and reverse, and the strike is pleasing as it shows definition on Liberty's head, chest and arm, and also the reverse is sharp with clear knobs on the eagle's claws and the feathers are cleanly delineated on the thighs of the eagle. Identifiable by a couple of reeding marks in the lower left obverse field between Liberty's knee and the first two stars, and another on Liberty's lower belly. Minor hairlines in the fields and a bit washed out as expected. There is a small raised die lump on the upper portion of the 7, and the usual die cracks are found on the legends of the reverse. Always in strong demand, and one of the most popular issues from the Trade Dollar series. Population: 7 in 62, 11 finer (12/05).
From The Andy Geosits Collection of Trade Dollars.
