Cogan, Edward. POSTCARD DATED 21 APRIL 1875 FROM EDWARD COGAN TO J.N.T. LEVICK. Brooklyn, 21 April 1875. Printed postcard with handwritten address; blank verso, on which Cogan has written in purple ink a 15-line message in small, neat handwriting. Postmark cancellation dated April 22. Fine. A wonderful piece of ephemera, neatly written and signed by the first truly successful coin dealer in the United States. The postcard mostly reports on prices realized at Cogan’s March 1–2, 1875 auction sale, and gives the names of the buyers as well.
