<B>1875 G$1 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> The 1875 gold dollar comes with a mintage of 400 business strikes and 20 proofs, making it one of the most desirable coins in the series. PCGS and NGC have certified about 60 business strikes, with the majority falling into the About Uncirculated to MS62 grade range.<BR> Attractive green-gold patination envelops the Select example offered in the current lot. Highly prooflike fields, which are typical for the date, yield strong contrast with the mildly frosted devices. An impressive strike imparts sharp definition to the design elements, including all of the letters in LIBERTY. Minute handling marks in the fields preclude an even higher grade.
