<B>1875-CC $5 AU53 NGC.</B></I> There is ample luster in the protected areas of this bright, rich-gold five. A predictably elusive issue with a low mintage of just 11,828 pieces, the majority of which are found in XF or lower states of preservation. The obverse is better struck than most peer examples (with some weakness on the hair curls), and the eagle's neck is ill-defined on the reverse. A few light marks scattered about do not distract and the overall appeal is very nice.
