1875 $20 MS63 PCGS. Boldly defined and far less abraded than is normally seen on Uncirculated survivors. In fact, the satiny fields display only a few modest luster grazes, the most noticeable of which are located in front of Liberty's brow and before the bridge of her nose. Years of searching would probably fail to produce a significantly finer example. While the 1875 is not a standout issue among Type Two double eagles, the mere fact that it is a Select Mint State representative of the most conditionally scarce design among the three types of Coronet twenties secures its importance. Population: 47 in 63, 3 finer (7/07).

Coin Engraver: James B.
