1875 1C PR65 Red PCGS. Most proof Indian Cents from the 1870s are more common than their counterparts from the preceding decade. This is not, however, the case with the 1875 (approximately 700+ pieces produced). Particularly at the finer levels of Red preservation, the 1875 is equally as challenging to locate as many of the 1860s bronze proofs. One of only 11 PR65 Red examples known to PCGS (a mere two are finer, 1/03), this lustrous example displays original coloration that is perhaps most vivid around the reverse denomination. As befits the method of die preparation for proof Indian Cents from this era, both sides exhibit mirrors that are only moderate in vibrancy. On the other hand, the surface preservation is truly extraordinary with nary a distracting contact mark or carbon fleck to report. Sharply impressed in virtually all areas. From the Colburn Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
