1874 T$1 MS64 PCGS. Warm pink and Champagne undertones enliven the surfaces of this scarce issue. The luster is perhaps less flashy than seen on peer examples, but the clean surfaces and bolder than normal strike more than compensates. While the total mintage of the 1874 is not on the large side for the Trade Dollar series, it is impressive for a coin of this type from the Philadelphia Mint. In fact, the delivery of 987,100 Trade Dollars in 1874 is the second highest for this coinage facility trailing only 1877's output. As one might expect for an early date Trade Dollar, the 1874 saw very little domestic circulation. Scarce in circulated grades, the issue is rare in Mint State. Population: 22 in 64, 7 finer (12/07).
From The Rare Coins of New Hampshire Collector Set.

Coin Engraver: William Barber

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
