1874 Sharps rifle in. 44-77 caliber with straight case shipped to Carlos Gove in Denver, Colorado, serial number 158420. The rifle shows a slightly heavier than standard octagon barrel measuring 30” and is mountedwith a period venier type tang sight that has adjustments for both windage and elevation. The barrel shows a typical Sharp type rear sight with target type front sight. The barrel shows him 70% to 80% original blueturning to brown with some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting. The frame shows 10% to 20% case hardening drifting to a silvery gray with some mottled patina and natural finish. The stocks are good to verygood with just slight normal aging and a very good wood to metal fit. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the action is tight and the bore is near excellent. A far above average Western shipped Sharps from amajor Southern California collector. Weight Approximately 14.25 pounds total. Est.: $7,000-$14,000.
