<B>1874-S $10 XF40 PCGS.</B></I> For the branch mint eagles of 1874, the Carson City Mint had the higher of the two mintages, 16,767 pieces compared to the 10,000 coins produced by San Francisco. The Carson City comparison underscores how scarce this issue is in all grades. Light, even wear affects the well-defined devices and the orange-gold fields, which retain a trace of original luster. Slight weakness is noted on the stars and other peripheral elements.
