1874 Liberty Seated 25C. Arrows
1874. Arrows. PCGS graded MS-65. A frosty white gem. P-mint Quarter production in the Philadelphia Mint dipped to 471,900 pieces in 1874 after a hefty 1.2 million Arrows examples were delivered in 1873. As such, the 1874 is the scarcer of the two Philadelphia Mint issues in the Arrows, Motto series of 1873-74. This is not to say that the 1874 is rare in an absolute sense, for circulated examples can generally be had with a minimum amount of patience and in the old days of the 50s and 60s of the 20th century, a few original rolls surfaced. All the same, Gems today are scarce, and nice frosty MS65 Gems are of the utmost desirability.

This silky-smooth example is devoid of grade-depleting bagmarks. Full, creamy-textured, frosty luster gives it a smooth cartwheel allure as the surfaces dance light off them left and right. With a razor-sharp strike and exquisite eye appeal, this coin is sure to elicit strong bids from advanced type collectors when it crosses the auction block. Pop 10; 4 finer in 66 (PCGS # 5494) .
Estimated Value $2,700 - 2,800.
