<B>Declaration of Independence: Centennial Memorial Facsimile</B></I> by James McBride. One page, 15" x 19.5", (Philadelphia: Continental Publishing Co., 1874). The engrossed Declaration, including signatures, is here reproduced on thin cream-colored paper within a patriotic border with an eagle on top flanked by U.S. flags. In the lower left corner is a seal of the Department of the Interior and a facsimile signature by the Secretary of the Interior Columbus Delano, certifying that this is a "Fac.Simile of the original Declaration..." In the lower right corner is an inset engraving of Independence Hall as it was in 1776. This area was typically occupied by an advertisement from a local firm. We can not locate record of another like this one- likely an early sample. Rare thus.
